Special Community MeetingÂ and Discussion on the BRA JP/Rox Draft Plan for the Forest Hills-Egleston Square-Jackson Square area, on June 22, 2016, at 7:00 pm, sponsored by the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council

WHAT?Â Â Â The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council, through its Housing & Development Committee and its Zoning Committee, invite you to participate in a community discussion of what’s good andÂ what’s not so good about the BRA’s JP/Rox draft plan.Â Â This is a BRA plan for the Forest Hills-Egleston Square-Jackson Square area,Â including Washington Street, Columbus Avenue, Green Street and AmoryÂ Street.Â Â New zoning for this area will be created from the final version of this BRA plan, which willÂ include significant changes in use, density, and height allowances.

Â Regular June 2016 Neighborhood CouncilÂ & Committee Meetings

Â Zoning Committee: Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at 7:00 pm at Farnsworth House, 90 South Street. Agenda includes: (1) 8 Nira Avenue (create six-family dwelling by renovating existing three-family dwelling and adding three-story addition to include three additional residential units); (2) 33 and 35-37 Haverford Street (combine existing 3,606 square foot lot with 3,873 square foot lot; raze existing two-family dwelling and construct a new three-story three-family dwelling and a new three-story five-family dwelling on combined lot. Two dwellings to share common driveway); (3) 65 Rockwood Street (change of occupancy from church with daycare to community center with daycare, to clarify existing occupancy; renovate community center and construct 50 foot x 8 foot addition on first floor, per plans); and, (4) 39 Eliot Street (raze garage and construct additional residential unit as an addition to existing single-family residence. New second unit to be 2950 square feet with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Note that the 39 Eliot Street project is â€œas of right,â€ requiring no variances, but as the site is within the Monument Square Design Overlay District, it is on the agenda for design review comments to the BRA. Public Service Committee: Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at 7:00 pm at the John F. Kennedy School, 7 Bolster Street. Agenda includes: (1) A petition of The Blue Nile Restaurant for a new Seven-Day Common Victualler (Restaurant) Beer & Wine License at 389 Centre Street with Yosef Haile as manager; and, (2) A petition of The Haven at 2 Perkins Street for a Seven-Day Common Victualler (Restaurant) All-Alcohol License with a 1:00 am closing hour, with Jason Waddleton as manager.
