Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council & Committee Meetings, November 2019


Parks + Committee (NO MEETING SCHEDULED): In lieu of a meeting the Park + Committee will help with JP Shines, Saturday, Nov. 2 at 9:00 am at South Street Mall.

Public Service Committee: Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 pm at Curtis Hall, 20 South Street. The agenda will include: 1). A petition of JES Donuts, Inc., doing business as “Dunkin” at 37 South Huntington Avenue in Jamaica Plain for a 7-Day Common Victualler License with the hours of 5:00am to 9:00pm, with Janet Silveira as manager; 2). A request of Creative Restaurant Concepts, Inc., doing business as “Whisky Saigon” at 110-116 Boylston Street in Boston for a transfer of their 7-Day Common Victualler (Restaurant) all Alcohol License to Cill Dara, Inc., doing business as “Eugene O’Neill’s” at 3700 Washington Street in Jamaica Plain, with a 1:00am closing, with Melissa Hunt as manager, and also for an entertainment license for four TVs, trivia, karaoke, and up to three live performers.

Zoning Committee:  Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7:00 pm at Farnsworth House, 90 South Street.  The agenda will include: 1). 71 and 71R May Street to change occupancy of rear building from garage to single-family residence and expand and renovate rear building per plans; 2). 135 School Street to convert existing single-family residence to two-family residence, per plans; 3). 48 St. John Street, which includes two applications: (a) curb cut and off-street parking for two cars on Rockview Street side of property; (b) extend living space into basement per plans; 4). 378-380 Centre Street (Brendan Behan) seeks to add outdoor patio with 23 seats and access to existing bar; no work to be done.  

Education Committee (PLEASE NOTE NEW TIME AND LOCATION):  Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019 at 7:00 pm at JP Licks: TBA

Housing & Development Committee: Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 6:30 pm at the Bowditch School, 82 Green Street (PLEASE NOTE NEW LOCATION): On the agenda will be:  1). An update from the development team (JPNDC, Urban Edge, TCB) on Mildred C. Hailey redevelopment project;  2). An Article 80 project at 35 Brookley Rd. for a 4-story building, 46 rental units including 3 artist live-work, 10 affordable units, and 21 parking spaces.  

Zoning Committee:  Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7:00 pm at Farnsworth House, 90 South Street.  The agenda will include: 1).  10R Burr Street to build a detached one-car garage. 2).  A design review only of an “as of right” project at 73 Sheridan Street to construct three townhouses with eight residential units, which is located in the Hyde Square Neighborhood Design Overlay District (NDOD). 

Executive Committee:  Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7:00 pm – CANCELLED

Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council:  Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7:00 pm, at Farnsworth House, 90 South Street.  On the agenda will be: 1).  Third Announcement of At-Large Vacancy; 4). Updates and recommendations of committees.
